What to expect from your first one-to-one dance lesson

A private lesson can feel daunting if you have never had one. Here is how a first session with ABD Baila is usually structured.

A first lesson is as much a conversation as it is a class. We begin gently, looking at posture, alignment and how you naturally carry weight through the feet and spine, before moving into simple exercises that reveal your current range and coordination.

There is no expectation of prior experience, and no requirement to wear specialist clothing for a first session. Comfortable clothing you can move in, and bare feet or soft shoes, are enough.

By the end of the lesson you should have two or three clear, achievable things to work on, and a shared sense of where the training could go next.
